Corporate Social Responsibility
Since 1988 when we formed, we have recognised the benefits that working closely with our clients can bring to the communities we work in. We have developed a model that allows us to deliver added value programs alongside our commercial activities, and deliver huge benefits in both staff development and positive outcomes to the local areas where we work.
In 2012 we used our experience of employing apprentices over a 25 year period to develop a new concept in employment training. Taking experienced employees off site to form the teaching staff we designed a 4 week pre-employment course open to anyone from any background who was seeking work.
The course is focused on delivering the key elements that an employer looks for in a potential employee: Attendance, Punctuality, Attitude, Commerciality and Safety Awareness.
Successful candidates will achieve 80% attendance and punctuality, impress our course manager Allan Montague with their attitude, complete set tasks in a timely manner and gain their CSCS card. On completion they will be recommended for work and may join K&M or one of our partner employers who will offer full employment as an apprentice or improver.
